It’s looking more likely that Colts quarterback Andrew Luck might never take the field this season. Gm Chris Ballard advised the media today that Luck will not practice this week due to shoulder soreness and after taking a cortisone shot. This news coming after the quarterback practiced the last two weeks.
Let’s face it. Unless the Colts are in position to make the playoffs at the end of the season, there is no need to rush Luck. He is their franchise and if he needs to take a full year off, so be it. Plenty of teams crumble under pressure and rush players back when they’re not 100 percent.
Ballard said that there is no timeline for when the Qb might practice again but that he shouldn’t be out too long.
In his replacement, Jacoby Brissett has been serviceable. He is a good backup quarterback and will be backing up in this league for a long time.
Hopefully the Colts do not rush their 140 million dollar Qb back, thus putting him in danger of missing more time than he should.
