This one was not even close. Jay Cutler-less Dolphins were shut out 40-0 against an average at best Baltimore Ravens team.
Baltimore overcame the loss of Joe Flacco to a concussion on what was a late hit by Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso. Flacco was managing the game decently until that point going 10 for 15 for 101 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Mallett came in for Flacco and threw a touchdown pass in relief.
Offensively, the Ravens found their rhythm by rushing the ball. Alex Collins ran the ball 18 times for 113 yards and Buck Allen ran 17 times for 55 yards.
The Ravens defense looked like their early 2000’s unit, completely shutting down Dolphins star RB Jay Ajayi. He finished with 13 rush attempts for 23 yards.
They also picked off Matt Moore twice and both INT’s were returned for touchdowns.
Moore finished with 25 for 44 for 176 yards and 2 interceptions.
We kinda now understand why the Dolphins decided to sign Jay Cutler when Ryan Tannehill suffered a torn ACL this summer.
