We get an AFC East rivalry this week on Thursday night. Seemingly, these are two teams that are headed in the opposite direction at the mid-point of the season.
Buffalo has won 4 out of their last 5 games. They’ve got the petal on the metal and are gunning for the division championship. They proved that by acquiring wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin from the Panthers at the trade deadline. Head Coach Sean McDermott was the defensive coordinator for the receiver’s first three seasons and current Bills GM, Brandon Beane, was their director of football operations. They know the wide receiver well.
Offensively they’re running the ball very well and they just bolstered up their receiving corps.
The Jets on the other hand are not playing good football lately. They have started games off fast but have failed miserably to hold onto the leads. They blew second half leads to the Patriots, the Dolphins and the Falcons.
One thing that’s not helping the Jets is the injuries. Starting CB Morris Claiborne may be out with a foot injury. Muhammad Wilkerson is questionable. FB Lawrence Thomas has already been ruled out.
Despite the teams trending in opposite directions, Bills HC Sean McDermott still believes the Jets are a threat.
‘Don’t let the record fool you, this is a good football team’
